In the separate women's competition, Cercle d'Echecs de Monte-Carlo dominated the event by winning all their matches.  Not a surprising result since they were led by Hou Yifan, Koneru Humpy and Anna Muzychuk.  Also in the team were Pia Cramling and team captain Almira Skripchenko.

"main strenth of socar is topalov, grischuk, kamsky and sutovsky. none of them are azerbaijani..lol"

The top boards are Azerbaijani as the bottom boards, and as BayBak points out Sutovsky was born in Baku as well. Even without a Gashimov who has taken a break from chess but otherwise might have played I'd say the team is fairly Azerbaijani. The Russian teams in second and third place had two Russians on the top five boards so the difference wasn't that big between the top teams. "Worse" is in that case the French winners of the women's event, where the only French player was Skripchenko, on the lowest board, and she sat out most of their matches.

lol..main srenght of SOCAR Azerbaijan was team-play.

Emil Sutovsky is an Israeli chess Grandmaster, President of the Association of Chess Professionals. He is one of the several top chess grandmasters who were born in Baku, Azerbaijan (e.g., Garry Kasparov, Teimour Radjabov, Vugar Gashimov and Vladimir Akopian).
